Using A-Dock : Spring-loaded menus

A-Dock implements spring-loaded menus for folders inside A-Dock.

To understand how it works, let's take a simple example : you have a favorite folder inside A-Dock called “Imaging” that holds all your applications to open graphic files :

Now you're in the Finder, you have a Photoshop gif file you wish to open with GraphicConverter which is not running yet.

All you have to do it drag that file onto the “Imaging” icon in A-Dock. Then wait just a bit (2 seconds by default), or just press the space bar, and the content of the “Imaging” folder will popup. The cursor will change into a closed hand to show that you're dragging something. You'll then be able to drop you file onto GraphicConverter.

A-Dock will launch GraphicConverter and open your gif file for you...

    Note 1:
If you wish to cancel the drag once the menu has popped up, just drop the item outside of the menu.

    Note 2:
It's also possible to drop any item onto a folder in the popup menu. Droping the item will move it to the hilited folder. Holding down the option key while droping will copy it, and holding down both option and command keys will create an alias.
